  1. I get to choose the kind of health (PPO) plan I want, vision (PPO) and dental (PPO) plan. In addition, I enroll in a flexible spending plan to handle my medical expenses. I like the ability of choosing a PPO plan vs. an HMO plan.

  2. I wish they’d do the same thing with corporate life insurance policies as well. I think people forget just how fortunate they are when they receive all these benefits with big corporations and really, just how much these things were to cost if they were self-employed.

  3. I’m looking for a health insurance plans to see if any of them are right for me. I like what you said about cafeteria plan health insurance that we can choose what we want to insure and subsequently what we want to pay for with our limited health insurance funds.

  4. My. Husband’s Co. has always had a cafeteria plan. I was also insured thru it and he has lost over $12,000.00 per year in income reported to Social Security for 18 years. It may save on taxable income per year but I hardly think it is a good thing when it comes to Social Security income when you retire. We would have preferred to pay higher taxes during those years as opposed to it reducing his benefits.
